1.  Orioles clinch the AL East title for the first time in 9 years, beating out a great Tampa Bay team in an amazingly good division.

2.  Orioles win 100 games for the first time in 43 years, and only the 6th time in their history.

3.  The Orioles agree to a new Csmden Yards lease, assuring that they stay in Baltimore for at least 30 years.

4.  The Orioles’ top farm team, the Norfolk Tides, win the International League Championship, with several of their top prospects playing key roles in the win. 

Just sit back and savor all that.  That’s one hell of a day!   Whatever happens from here this season, this is a day that should long be remembered.

I have bookmarked this thread for the archives to commemorate this great day. Like Uli said, after you get beyond all the World Series and the record breaking days like 2131, this day might become known as the next greatest day in Orioles franchise history.

But yet, it's still not what we play the game for. We play to win the World Series, so while we can enjoy this day, in about 10 days we begin again with eyes on the real prize.

This season has been a magical one, and it made abundantly clear the enormous quality-of-life difference it makes in a baseball season where you’re playing great vs one where you’re the laughingstock of the game. It’s been a tremendous amount of fun.

I would also like to add:

WHOOOOOOO! WOOOHOOO! 
WOOOOHOOOHOOOHOO!

Why, for accepting the fact that he probably wasn't going to extort another $300M out of the taxpayers of Maryland and after many delays and attempts to use hints at moving as leverage he finally, grudgingly agreed to take only $600M in free money?
