Craig Kimbrel - Signing

I feel good about this, the bullpen was a little scary late last year after Bautista went down.  This feels like a good first move to the offseason.

I thought the Winter Meetings ended tomorrow? If so I doubt this is the biggest signing made, Eduardo Rodriguez is supposed to make a decision tomorrow.

All that said, I feel like our FO got a little aggressive and made a move we needed to make.  Now lets go find that TOR starter.

Kimbrel is becoming a really strong Immaculate Grid candidate.

Kimbrel is better than what the Orioles MO is of taking a RP in the Rule 5 (glad they passed) and claiming some guy on waivers and talking him up because he "throws baseball fast" and than proclaiming they addressed the back end of the bullpen. 

 

I do find the 13 million funny (although seems a lot) its right on that "no go above" AAV line of 12-13 million

Yep! Right in line with my 2/$24 expected limit for any deals this offseason haha. 

If we sign Wacha or somebody like that, I expect a similar deal, give or take a couple mil. 

If we sign anybody beyond 2 years I will be stone cold stunned. Elias has yet to issue a straight 2 year deal, much less 3 or more.

Really good deal.  Love the option.  We rely on our closer so much.  It also lessens the pressure on Bautista to rush back or have to get over taxed when he does.  Dream scenario would be Bautista coming back this Sept.

That chicken wing will sell many t-shirts at the Oriole team Fanatics store and online. Easily will cover his salary and then some. Maybe one section will have the Chicken Wing zone ,with wings and a chicken but not from San Diego.
