MLB Offseason Moves/Rumor Thread

Bellinger was apparently offered longer deals by 3 teams including the Cubs.  They were at lower AAV, but 5+ years. Bellinger chose to gamble on himself and take a shorter deal with opt outs so he could have a chance at a mega deal.

I wonder what those deals looked like. This year, there was Ohtani and then he was the next big position player. Next offseason, you have Soto, Bregman, and Alonso lining up for big contracts.

Brandon Crawford is bursting the balloon of the 1-team thing to join the Cardinals SS depth chart with young Masyn Winn.

Twins get Manuel Margot from Dodgers to backfill their 2023 (and still on the market) Michael A. Taylor as a guy who can patrol CF if Byron Buxton can't.

Dodgers redeploy the Margot roster spot with swiss army knife they know Enrique Hernandez.

I wonder if Lorenzen has some sort of injury that’s preventing him to sign?  Snell and Montgomery both want $30 million a year. Clevinger and Bauer have DV/SA issues. After looking into it, it looks like the only reason Clevinger pitched last year was because he signed his FA deal before the allegations came out.

Clevinger has been cleared of any wrongdoing and closed the case.  The fact MLB and the state have dismissed there cases without out a trail or really anything but brief investigation tells me that there wasn’t much case.  MLB usually sides on the side of caution in domestic cases but didn’t give him any punishment.

This should be a busy week with last guys signing.  Who am I kidding there is no suck thing as busy week in MLB free agency.  The NFL will start there free agency in two weeks and most guys will be signed in first couple days and half the unsigned MLB guys will still be dragging their feet at this pace.

You have to think they make a big push for Montgomery, if that wasn't already the case. His wife works in Boston, I think it's pretty much bound to happen.

Fenway's not great for LHPs.
