So you admit to judging too quickly and being completely wrong?

Your whole over the top “smear campaign” on him was way way wrong.

Ok.

The admission seems a wee bit shorter than the theories posted on why Holliday would never be anything special.

"...or hitting a line drive piss missile..". 8:15

Lol...awesome.

I feel like that's redundant.  I can't imagine a piss missile being anything other than a line drive.

Except I have never said that.  Ever.

Please show me where I have.

All I said was he may not be elite.

Not really good. He should be. Just elite.

“May not be elite”

Keep moving those goal posts.

    • I know Soto has been better, which is something the O's need if there's any chance of post season success, but I just do not trust him, I don't know that he's going to be here next year (he probably will be) because of the price tag, and I really like Chace.  I didn't want Rogers at all and, like Ortiz last year, wanted Norby in Baltimore all season.  I'll certainly admit these trades could work out well for the Orioles going forward, but I don't like them at all right now.  If Rogers pitches well next year, or Chace never makes it, I'll admit I was wrong. My biggest issue, which goes to a common theme here of late, is that I really don't agree with the overall pitching acquisition process the Orioles are going through.  All that great position player depth we had and yet Elias is playing the likes of Soto, Rivera, Maton, Slater and Jimenez.  Mike has been incredible to this franchise, I'm thrilled to have him, and we've had a ton of injuries... but I've certainly disagreed with him some this year.
    • For what it's worth, McKusick (Filmstudy guy) thinks Rosengarten ran into Lamar's arm causing him to fumble.  I rewatched, and it's pretty slight so I'm not sure how impactful it was, but it does look like he runs into Lamar's forearm.  He probably could have protected it better but he had a lot of things working against him.  If I'm assigning blame I'd probably put more blame on Lamar for last year's strip sack - we did have a debate there about how much Lamar was to blame and I did take Lamar's side, but rewatching it in the context of his overall ball control issues, I'm probably moving a little more over into Lamar's fault territory.  In this one, idk... the pocket was completely collapsed in this one inside of 2.2 seconds and he didn't have many places to go, and his own lineman hit his arm AND blocked his escape path from the guy delivering the pressure.
    • Coulombe and Webb will also be in the pen.    McDermott, Young, Povich and Rogers all have options and don't have to be on the team on OD.    O's have used 32 pitchers in 2024.   All these pitchers will probably see time with the O's in 2025. One of Elias tasks over the winter is to stock AAA with talent.
    • Keep in mind that Kjerstad is not propsect eligible due to the amount of days he spent on the active MLB roster, and not the amount of plate appearances.  He'd still be our #3 prospect, and a top 40-50 prospect in all of baseball.  Hopefully, he finds a bench spot on the MLB team soon.  We sure could use a spark, even if at just DH.
    • Came down to the wire for the record, too, we got thrown out probably our four previous attempts to break it.
    • OPS is at .742 in Bowie.  I saw mlb pipeline just listed the guy that was drafted directly behind him at #100.  With another 5-7 spots being available due to propsect graduation on top 100 lists, I bet he makes a couple of offseason lists.
    • This is why I don’t think the full effect of the 2015 Freddie Gray riots was felt until 2016, the first time season ticket holders had a chance to non-renew.  That’s why 2016 had worse attendance than 2015 despite the team having a playoff race that went to the final day.
