That was a perfect inning for Wells, one pitch shy of being “immaculate.”  Great recovery and great way to end his day.

Wells stuff and location vastly improved over the course of today’s outing, generated 16 swings and misses (more than GRods 15 yesterday and Burnes 12 on opening day).  Quality start w/o McCanns error.

It was a quality start WITH McCann's error.  From the MLB glossary:

Quality Start (QS)
Definition

A starting pitcher records a quality start when he pitches at least six innings and allows three earned runs or fewer. A starting pitcher has two jobs: to prevent runs and get outs. The quality start statistic helps to quantify which pitchers did a "quality" job in those two departments.
