Apparently scoring runs several innings in a row is a real barometer for success.

It is, just not in this kind of game. Think NYY series or postseason series.

This just isn't the O's day.  Take the series win and be thankful.

Yep.   We have 3 losses by > 3 runs all year, and none since April 19.

Good starting pitching prevents these type of things from happening too often, thank goodness.  And honestly, Kremer was one batter away from 6 innings / 10 strikeouts / 1 earned run today!   But he was let down terribly by his bullpen and then he couldn't get that last out.

Might as well put Kjerstad and McKenna in.  I guess that's like waving the white flag.  Might as well put Kjerstad in center to see how he does and McKenna at 2B, I heard he was taking some practice there.

Nah Mckenna has the 9th on the mound.

Well this was a sudden melt down of epic proportions. I'd like to be optimistic but I just don't see how they come back from this. I might turn the game off and go give my mother some attention on Mothers Day before it gets too late.

    • Great post, thanks for providing this info.  This kind of comes across as "kinda 50/50", but there's enough success there to feel like Bradish could end up a success story, especially if the injury is as mild as I believe it is.  We'll see though. Thanks again for doing some digging.
    • For pitchers it’s 15 day.
    • I think they want him “well done” this go round.  Imagine they will wait as long as that takes for him to absolutely dominate and show he can hit various types of pitches.
    • Does that include rehab inning in the minors?
    • That darned Kyle Boddy disruption has asymmetrically affected the supply of Arms relative to Bats that can be arbitraged. Orioles bats are doing fantastic relative to the league keeping their noses out in front.
    • Generally “successful” (i.e., no TJ in 18 mos after) non-surgical return: Mason Miller - May 7, 2023 to Sep 6, 2023  Seth Lugo - Apr 4, 2017 to Jun 11, 2017 Anthony Descaffolini - Feb 27, 2017, returned to MIlB action Jul 23, 2017 but shut down with elbow tendinitis after Aug 3, 2017, returning to MLB action Jun 5, 2018 Victor Arano (AA) - Feb 12, 2017 to May 31, 2017 Aaron Nola - Jul 28, 2016 to opening day roster 2017 Wei-Yin Chen - Jul 20, 2016 to Sep 19, 2016; May 1, 2017 to Sep 4, 2017; Sep 22, 2017 to Apr 28, 2018 Michael Lorenzen - Mar 9, 2016 spring training start scratch (following two weeks of soreness) to Jun 24, 2016 Tyler Thornburg - Jun 6, 2014 - opening day roster 2015 Masahiro Tanaka - Jul 8, 2014 to Sep 21, 2014 Scott Atchison - Jul 13, 2012  to Sep 16, 2012 Ervin Santana - March 8, 2009 to May 14, 2009 Takashi Saito - Jul 12, 2008 to Sep 15, 2008 Adam Wainwright (AAA) - Jun 8, 2004 to Sep 8, 2004 Gregg Olson - Aug 8, 1993, returned Sep 22, 1993 to walk only batter faced; then returned May 30, 1994 Nolan Ryan - Oct 1986 to opening day roster 1987 Tom Niedenfuer - July 12 1984, returned August 4 to walk two batters and give up HR, then returned Sep 21 1984 Jim Kaat - Sep 30, 1967 to May 3, 1968 Early Winn - jul 22 1961 to April 21 1962 Ned Garver - May 1956   Failed non-surgical rehab without MLB return (since 2013 and unlikely comprehensive): Andrew Painter - 2023 Nick Burdi - 2020 John Brebbia 2020 Hunter Greene - 2019 Steven Wright  - 2019 Blaine Hardy - 2019 Seranthony Dominguez - 2019 Colin Rea - 2016 Andrew Heaney - 2016 Sean Nolan - 2016 Alex Cobb - 2015 Casey Saddler - 2015 Brandon Workman - 2015 Dylan Bundy - 2013 Jonny Venters -2013 Jason Motte - 2013
