I’d think we’d put him on the FCL roster. 6’3 180. Gotta love that frame. Think of the trade this way, Rodriguez probably is the equivalent of a 5th-7th rd draft pick in this upcoming draft. So we flipped Stallings, who had no role, for a 5th round pitcher with a higher ceiling.

Do you know anything about Aneuris Rodriguez other than him being listed at 6’3 180?   Anything beyond his stats?   For all I know he throws 88 mph but has a good curve that can strike out 19 year olds but is a non prospect they just got to eat some innings in the FCL.

18.2 K/9 in the FCL equivalent. Honestly, who knows?  I guess you can say that about every player that young. Also, outside of Carter Baumler and Zac Showalter, we haven’t drafted a HS pitcher, so we’re all a little rusty on evaluating that league. 

His numbers in the ACL look similar to Baumler’s and Showalter’s at the same age.  They got big money. So there is that.

In no way am I saying this is possible with Thyago but it’s interesting how some guys go from stink to elite.

This guy’s trade value was worth the delta between Garret Stallings and Thyago Rivera, so I have zero expectations that he’ll ever become an interesting prospect. I don’t think the Brewers are the type of organization where you can sneak an underrated teenage prospect out from under their noses. Better than nothing but don’t get your hopes up.

His name is Vieira but I like Rivera better.  He hasn't pitched nearly well enough for me to spell his name right,

it may be safe to pitch Viera tomorrow, but no other days this week.

Honestly, I’d consider using him in exactly that situation, but when that last game is a little less fresh.

Got a pretty good feeling that we’re going to DFA Vieira and make a small trade for Jorge Lopez with the Mets picking up his salary. Heck, Fuji is in the minors for them on a $3 million deal. Maybe they’ll toss him in too.

Just to take this thread to even weirder places.

I doubt we’ll trade for him. there’s probably not another team that is dying to pick him up.
