Thanks,  Blue Jays pitchers, by the way.  McCann to the face and Westberg out for the season.  That's solid work.

Not only that, but today the Jays were busting McCann up and in all game. Dude took a fastball off the face because of one of your pitchers sucked and you decide to test him repeatedly inside. Tools.

They are playing the Yankees this weekend, they'll have some bruises real soon.

Their fans will blame the Orioles if any Jays player hits one of their batters.  Birds of a feather...

Not sure why our batters aren't wearing the same kind of hand armor Ohtani is wearing. I'm sure it is a "feel" thing, but if we all chip in $5 we can send at least a few pairs.

Pitchers aren't going to get less tired from here on out.

Wouldn’t have helped. It was the back hand down closer to the wrist on the pinky side.

Two reasons why they won’t: (1) they’re not comfortable with Mayo at third; and (2) they want someone who can also play second and short (the former at a minimum).

They don’t want to be in a position where Holiday and Gunnar HAVE to play every single game in the field; they would also prefer not to be in a position where they need to play Ramon at second or Jackson at short.

If they call up Vavra, then Gunnar and Holliday will likely have to play every day unless they have Vavra (a LHB) play against LHP’s. He’s also probably worse at 2nd defensively than Holliday or Urias and has played 87 career innings at 3B.

If they call up Soto, also a LHH, he is a better SS option but is he really ever going to start against a RHP at 2B (over Holliday), at SS (over Gunnar), or at 3B (over Urias)? Very unlikely he starts against a LHP either considering he has a .583 OPS against them this year in the minors. So, pretty much he is an injury/defensive replacement if necessary.

The best way for them not to have to play Gunnar and Holliday every day is by calling up Mayo because he’s by far the better player of the 3 options and he is right handed. Urias and Holliday can both play 2B, Mayo and Urias (and Gunnar) can play 3B if needed, and Holliday or Urias can play SS in a worst case scenario. Not saying that’s what’s going to happen, but calling up Vavra/Soto to play once a week isn’t going to give Holliday or Gunnar much rest.

Makes no sense. Soto is a lefty. He’s not playing against a RHP over Gunnar/Holliday and probably not against a LHP either. Literally just seems like an injury replacement.

I'm not sure how it doesn't make sense considering what we've seen from Elias.
