I wouldn't call Bassitt a struggling pitcher.  He's not having his best season but he's had a solid career.

That could just as easily mean he was due to pitch a good game.  Logan Gilbert and Nathan Eovaldi also have an over 5 era over the past couple of weeks.  With good players you can't read too much into it.
