Game Tomorrow Night?

So we are getting out of Toronto tomorrow and flying 3 hours to Tampa and the game is at 710 PM? This is at least the 2nd time this has happened this year. MLB should exercise some control over preventing this sort of thing.

At best the team plane leaves Toronto around Midnight and they get to Tampa around 3 or 4 AM. They are pros but that travel is draining on anyone especially this time of year.

Just another thing to gripe about this week.....should have been a 1 or 3 PM game.

Maybe the roof in the trop will spring a leak and the game will be rained out

It is a bit surprising that the game wasn’t scheduled for the afternoon.  It’s possible the O’s would fly out Friday morning instead of overnight.

There are rules on this but I don’t know exactly they they are. I’m not sure if time zones play a role or not.

Ungodly hour in St Pete is anything after 10 PM.

On June 9 of this past season, the Los Angeles Angels played a night game in New York that started at about 7 p.m. ET. They then played a night game at home the next day. Under the new rules, their getaway-day game in New York would not be allowed to start later than 4:37 p.m. ET

 

This seems to be a similar situation that we are in tomorrow. So why the game isnt in the afternoon makes no sense. The flight is 3 hours give or take a few minutes. This article was 8 years old so its possible some things have changed or there are occasional exceptions, but seems ridiculous.

Yeah. You would think it would qualify. Wish I could have found something mor up to date.
