Interesting that they didn't wait for one of their better relievers to come back.  "We'd rather have Bryan Baker than you" is a pretty emphatic statement.

As bad as he has been GM's can be very stubborn, so I'm a bit surprised. Would rather see Young than Baker, though.

Me too.  Not an upgrade but we know that Baker sucks.   He won’t fool us.

Never had a stretch like this. Clearly the mental part of things has gotten him this year.

He has a lot of good stats to fallback on and him having at least one more really good year wouldn’t surprise me.

Probably doesn't help baseball-wise but I do wonder if this will help the psyche of the team.  Gotta be tough having a veteran guy around who has simply lost it.  Depends on how Kimbrel was handling it, I suppose.

Agreed on Young. I know there are only a few games left, but if Povich is bad in his next start, I'd give that final turn to Young. 

Glad Elias finally did the right thing and got rid of Kimbrel. There needs to be accountability for performance, regardless of contract or experience.
