Loved seeing Eloy's enthusiasm at joining the team over the summer, but yeah it was way past time for this.  I didn't realize he still had options remaining, so I guess he's still around for a 'break glass in case of emergency' moment - hopefully he's done for the year though.  And declining the option is beyond a no-brainer, so that is in all likelihood it for Eloy as an O.

He had to agree to be optioned, due to having 5+ years of service time, which to his credit he did. 

I hope he can get fully healthy this offseason and figure out how to hit the ball in the air. 

I wouldn't mind bringing him back on a minor league deal. He seems like a solid guy and he is still reasonably young so he should have more chances. Doubt he gets a Major League deal this offseason, but if so I would imagine it would be with a non-competitive team hoping for a bounceback and a trade deadline deal.

Ryan did go 1/11 with 6 K's at Norfolk... But if he feels well enough, better to get him MLB AB's to get back in the swing of things.

Mounty hasn’t looked sharp at Norfolk, but he’s more likely to get hot than Jimenez and he can give O’Hearn some much needed time off, especially on defense.  I hadn’t realized how much better Mountcastle was defensively compared to O’Hearn until this recent stretch where the latter has been playing 1B regularly.  It’s a pretty wide gap, and not because Mounty is anything amazing over there.

Did not occur to me that Jimenez might have options. Another 3D chess move by Elias, likely inconsequential but still cool.

He’s not 100%, but his defense alone is worth him  ring active and playing.     Welcome back RM!
