Palmer is not exactly known for party-line thinking and, AFAIK, is more than happy to say anything he feels like saying. He just pretty much endorsed the pattern of getting 6 from the SP and then using Baez in the 7th inning, JJ in the 8th, and then a situation-based choice of George or Ray in the 9th. His only qualifiying statement was that Ray is still working on getting his arm-slot consistent.

The movement on his fastball is just outstanding right now. There were some anemic swings by good hitters that inning. Teix just rolled over on a 2-0 4 seamer. You just don't see that much out of a hitter as good as him. And he just made Jeter look awful.

How can you tell it's a 4-seamer while watching TV?

It doesn't come back over the plate vs. lefties.

2 seamers tend to run down / right when thrown by right handers. 4 seamers tend to be straighter.
