Any fans/alum of colleges from the Atlantic 10?

I’m certain a lot of posters on here are fans of the A10. I watch a lot of A10 basketball as well and attend the A10 basketball tournament every year in Atlantic City.

If there was one player I could bring back to college basketball this year it would be Jordan Crawford. (Sure you would hope for the same PrivateO.) Favorite A10 basketball player right now is Juan Fernandez.

Oh, you betcha. Two weeks before the season Brad Redford (3 PT shooting specialist) tore his ACL. A week later, our best freshman (Justin Martin, SG) was considered academically ineligible by the NCAA. Our bench is pretty bleak, especially from the guard play. Tu Holloway, PG, has been the clear force for the offense, although Kenny Frease © has gotten better as the year has progressed.

I was pretty worried about our chances of making the Tournament in early January (after losing to Gonzaga and Florida and getting annihilated by Cincinnati) but after 3 games in the A10, we're 3-0. St. Bonaventure tomorrow and Temple on Saturday will be big games. I think Xavier will make the tournament as long as they are 2nd or 3rd in A10 standings at the end of the season.

Kevin Anderson who is extremely underrated had a heck of game in Dayton. The Spiders I believe are now 5-1 in conference while Duquesne and Xavier are tied in first.

Kevin Anderson was the one who snubbed Jordon Crawford's A10 Player of the Year Award last year, right?

Xavier has a big game this Saturday at Richmond. 12 PM, ESPN2.

Big win for Xavier against Georgia in Athens last night. Neither team shot well but the W is the most important stat of the night.

X faces Duquesne for first place in the A10 this Sunday at 2pm.

While I do think X would make the tournament (even before the Georgia game), we desperately needed a good road win. Like every game, Tu Holloway explodes in the second half, scoring 18. The one thing I noticed about Georgia is that they have 0 shooting game. I believe they only made a 3 pointer, and it was during garbage time. But, their big men down low are very good.

I'm anxious to watch what Duquesne has to offer. Haven't seen them yet, but they continue to beat up on the A10. Every game, I've thought, "OK, this is the game they'll finally lose." Finally happened at St. Bonaventure last Saturday. The game is being played at Pittsburgh's Consol Arena (the new one for the Penguins), which means a lot of Xavier students and fans will be making the 6 hour trip east.

I was really tired when I watched the dvr recording last night but it seemed as if Holloway hadn’t even scored for the first 30 minutes or so and then just went off on Georgia.

Yup, went scoreless in the first half. Definitely not what I was expecting, but if you were only losing by 2 going into halftime (without Holloway scoring), you should be pretty confident.

Xavier wins a crucial game in Pittsburgh, taking down the Duquesne Dukes 71-83. Dante Jackson finally had an outbreak game, scoring 19. Tu Holloway was his usual self, as he scored 4 in the first half but ended with 20 total. Even with Mark Lyons fouling out with 10+ minutes left in the second half, the Musketeers proved that they belong in 1st place in the A10.

It was a really up and down game. Both Duquesne and Xavier had stretches that they dominated. With this win, Xavier controls their own destiny as they sit atop the standings, having tiebreaker advantages over Temple, Richmond, and Duquesne. The Musketeers finish off the season playing the bottom 6 of the A10 (Fordham, LaSalle, Charlotte at home; Dayton, SLU, and St. Joe's on the road).

I tell you though, I'm sure a lot of people haven't heard about Duquesne, but if they reach the NCAA tournament, look out. It's possible with a soft bubble lineup this year. The Dukes have an up-tempo game: 1st in NCAA in assists and 11th in points. If they make it, they could be spoilers.
