Matusz Tonight

Matusz does have a make-up problem as mentioned by Keith Law. I don't think he wants to be in the organization and he is not performing to his abiliy. Is he listening to the pitching coaches? The effort tonight is embarassing and disappointing. I don't think there is any doubt we would like to trade him

.

I clicked on the Tides' website 5 minutes ago, and they had Brian Matusz as the scheduled starter today ...... on 5 days' rest. However, now they have Zach Clark slated to pitch tonight, which means that Matusz won't be pitching until tomorrow on 6 days' rest ...... or, is it possible that there are plans to call him up to the Orioles pretty soon ??? Thanks in advance if anybody has any information on this.

I believe Tuesday is the day that Matusz will no longer be able to reach 3 years of service time this year regardless of whether he is recalled to the majors. If they called him up tomorrow, they'd be crazy, even if he was pitching great.

I wonder if it's one of those things that they (Matusz and Arrieta) are working on things that will ultimately hinder their effectiveness for a little while?

What is concerning is that Matusz had said he felt fine if you go back to Melewski's article earlier in the week. Jake was the one making adjustments and who we could expect might see some results that were less than appealing.
