I dunno about that - AJ's a pretty good fastball hitter. He should have at least a 1 in 4 shot at putting that ball in the stands. Against a Major-League pitcher, it's unlikely you'll see another meatball like that over the course of an at-bat, so you might as well go up hacking.

I was taught to throw to the bag. They know where they're going to end up.

Normally that works. But in this case, if he'd thrown to the bag immediately, the ball would've gone into CF.

His job is to drive in runs, he worked the count 2-0 and got a pitch to hit and missed it, I don't have a problem myself. He wasn't like he hacked at a breaking ball off the plate.

Yeah, that was pretty lame. First of all, runner on first and one out in the 2nd inning is a terrible situation to bunt. Second of all, Alvarez gets a one-pitch out. Awful "strategy" by Buck there.

Thats what I was thinking. Since when? And this early when the pitcher has already walked two.
