I'm more relived than anything.

Then again, that's true of ANY close game that North Carolina EVER plays in the NCAA Tournament.

The Tar Heels were down by a score of 64-59 with 5 minutes left. They called a timeout, and proceeded to go on a 12-0 run over the next 4-plus minutes for a 71-64 lead, which ultimately saved them.

Gonzaga: When Karnowski fully recovered.

Oregon: The injury that brought them together.

South Carolina: Shutting down Duke.

North Carolina: The pain from 2016's title game.

A mix of good luck and good defense helped them survive these past two games despite some pretty long stretches of not getting into a flow on offense. Jackson and Pinson were great on D to hold the two stars for each Kentucky (Monk & Fox) and Oregon (Dorsey & Brooks) to relatively quiet nights from the field. Still, if either Kentucky or Oregon had really brought their A game, UNC would have been done.

I'm gonna guess that Gonzaga wins on Monday. Unless the Heels have a hot shooting night from outside the paint, which can happen but often doesn't.

I’m amazed that UNC largely skated on the academic fraud charges, on the grounds that the fraud wasn’t limited to the athletic department.     But whatever.

If only Louisville had had the foresight to offer the strippers and prostitutes to the general student body as well as to basketball recruits, they would be in the clear now too!

North Carolina's all-time record is 58-0 vs. Clemson at home ........ dating back to 1926. ll O.o

10 years ago in 2008, Clemson was ahead by 11 points with only 3 minutes left to play ........ but Tyler Hansbrough and company outsourced Clemson 13-3 over those final 3 minutes to send the game into overtime. North Carolina eventually won the game in double-overtime, extending this amazingly eerie streak.

Clemson will get another shot at the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, on Tuesday night.
