He needs more time to regain his form. He'll be better in 2014. The Orioles just have to pick up his option. I am sure they will.

You think it is a lock that they pick up his 5 million option?

I don't.

They might try and sign him for substantially less then that.

I doubt they pick up the option. They can probably convince him to resign for a modest $1-2M (or perhaps even minor league contract). And that is if he doesn't decide to return to Japan.

He wants to pitch in MLB. I am sure he'll consider any fair deal if they don't pick up the option.

Wada walked the first batter of the game on 4 pitches.

After that, he threw 75 pitches, 56 for strikes, 19 for balls from that point until the end of the 6th inning.

In the 7th inning, he got one out, then surrendered a solo home run and a walk before departing.

He's made a lot of progress. It takes 14-16 months to make a complete recovery from TJS. Wada is at the 14 month point now. A few more outings and he may be ready.

I agree. He had the one really bad outing, but all of his other starts have been pretty solid to good.
