I don't think I've seen anything quite as unpredictable and streaky as our offense this year. It's like a lightbulb with a switch controlled by a random number generator. When the bulb is on, we can out-score and out-homer any team in baseball. When the bulb is off, we look terrible. I can't determine any factors that determine which it is on any given day.

It's a blessing and a curse. On the plus side, you never know when the O's are going to decide to just step up there and put an 8-spot on the board. Totally plausible for any given inning. On the negative side, you never know when the O's might have a 21-inning scoreless streak with dozens of strikeouts in that time. We may as well not even track stats like AVG, HR, SO, BB, 2B, etc. The Orioles' hitters are determined to buck any trend line you try to draw.

The opposing pitcher doesn't matter a lick! We've beaten the best and got shut down by really bad pitchers. No rhyme or reason.
