Playoff Tickets for Extra Games

When I logged in there was no link for ALDS Home Game 3. Were 13 Game Plan Holders not eligible to purchase tickets for that game? Maybe it was already sold out?

I bought tickets for Game 3. That game seemed to have the most tickets. I was looking at the terrace box pricing. $42.00 for an elite game during the season. $45.00 for a playoff game. Not that bad for a playoff game. The surcharges get you. Of course, the same seat to the World Series is $205.00.

A little confused here. Are people who put down a deposit on a 2015 plan buying tickets today? I did and have not received any code. How are people getting tickets today.

Sorry for stupid post. Just confused.

People who can buy today are 2014 season ticket holders. Earlier in the thread someone said that the people who put deposits down for next year should be getting their codes sometime tomorrow.

Some existing plan holders could buy today. 2015 new plan people can buy in another day or two (outlined somewhere earlier in this thread).

My 13 game plan is in sec 34. I got sec 14 game 1 sect 352 game 2 and sect 45 game 3. I was in waiting room about 1:51.....opened up for me right at 2 and transaction was complete by about 2:04. Pretty painless. I'd rather have a waiting room than risk getting screwed with a zillion refreshes and a overloaded website.

Is Game 1 gone? I assume it is. I already had two to game 2 and my wife added 2 more for that game, then she tried to get one ticket for Game 1 and she couldn't get any tickets. Unless she made a mistake.

She may have made a mistake. If she clicked "continue" instead of "add another game", I don't think you were allowed to go back into the site with the same code.

Well that was easy, but certainly not as good as 2012. I placed a deposit for 2013 then and was able to get 4 tickets per game. Not only that but after coming back at night I could select the seats I wanted. No dice here and didn't even risk it since it seemed likethere were few seats left. Just went with best available for all three games and got some $70 ones (section 260 and 62) for games 1 & 3 and $30 ones for game 2 in addition to the two I already have. Hoping the game times are good as can't really take off two days of work in a row. Yom Kippur starting Friday night with game 2 also puts a real damper on things. I have a feeling that game may be a day game and we get a 6PM start time for game 1.

I am assuming they held some tickets back for the 2015 plan deposit people but there was not a whole lot left for Game #2. "Best Available" was coming up LF Upper Deck. Makes sense for that game to be the more crowded one right now because 13 game plan holders got guaranteed tickets to Game #2 (as did full season plan holders) and I would assume the number of 13 game plan holders is much larger than 29 game plan holders.

Between the 29 and 13 game plan my brother and I have, we were able to to max out on our allotment of tickets. They are spread out all over the place but getting in is the most important thing right now.

Someone mentioned a ticket exchange thread earlier on this thread. I think that would be a great idea for people like me who wouldn't mind trying to get seats closer together for a game or two.

Can someone please explain to me what happens to the people who put a deposit down for 2015 season tickets? When will we be able to buy as I haven't even received an email yet. Also, since I put my deposit down early, I was told I'd have access to all games, but now people are saying its sold out. Is there are reserve for people who have put down deposits?

Not sure where you heard you would have access to all games. What I saw said new 2015 season ticket deposits would guarantee the chance to buy game 1 OR game 2 ALDS tix. And I'm sure you'll be able to buy game 1 or game 2 tix. They aren't gonna mess that up considering it was a carrot to get more season ticket sales. But I'm pretty certain you were never guaranteed the ability to buy all three ALDS games.

I think this is correct.

I already asked that question. They switched it a few weeks ago. Got this response from a rep when I asked if I'd have access to both:

"You will have access to both divisional games, they are now just guaranteeing you will get at least 1 game."

But back to my original question, are they holding tickets back for those who put down a deposit for 2015 and when do we get to purchase tickets?

yeah, they definitely had to hold some game 1 and game 2 tix back for the 2015 deposits.....in this instance, sold out doesn't necessarily mean sold out. it means "no more available right now".

and as for the exchange, absolutely......great idea. It would be awesome to be able to swap and sell.

Nope. they definitely aren't holding any back. they sold them all today. game 1 and 2 completely sold out. they advertised all those tickets for season ticket deposits and they LIED to you.

    • I’m learning to take no chances if I’m not 100% sure.  I went with Frank Howard in that square (382).   I like using former expansion Washington Senators for those Texas squares, as those teams were in DC during my childhood so I remember many obscure players from those teams.
    • The main reason I don’t think Burnes’ AAV will top Cole’s is that the winning bidder won’t we getting Burnes’ age 29-30 seasons, which in Cole’s deal, figured to be the most valuable ones.   In other words, you could look at Cole’s deal as having really been $46/$46/$46 - $36/$36/$36 - $26/$26/$26 in terms of actual expected value.  That averages out to $36 mm AAV, but if you knocked off the age 29/30 seasons, the remainder would be 7/$$234, an AAV of $33.4 mm.  So I’ll guess Burnes will get 7 years and something between $234 mm - $258 mm.
    • Can't wait to see last night's.
    • One other consideration is the Yankees are going to be giving Soto a massive contract and their starting pitching has been quite good this year, so there’s a decent chance they won’t be all-in on Burnes. I’m not sure about the Dodgers. Those are the two clubs that can really go to a different stratosphere than any others when it comes to payroll, so the Orioles could find themselves primarily competing with the more typical big market teams. If the Yankees or Dodgers decide they want Burnes though, the Orioles aren’t getting him.
    • I think this is right, Boras’ initial asking price will be to top Cole’s deal but given Burnes’ age he will get 7 years. But I think he’ll “settle” for 7 years by narrowly going over Cole’s AAV, so something like 7 yr / $255 M. The one interesting wrinkle is that teams have often gone extra years for lower AAV for luxury tax purposes. The Orioles have somewhat of an “advantage” in that they could do a high AAV and still never come close to paying luxury tax.
    • Here’s the thing (right now), we have 6 starters (one too many) and not enough good relievers (certainly none who can pitch more than an inning). Kremer has issues (this season) the more times that he does through the lineup (especially the third time through). It seems plausible to me that the switch given Kremer’s stuff would be better for everyone where Kremer may even at a tick in velo and be better at getting strikeouts as a reliever. And Irvin who has been an excellent starter (thus far) could continue in that role.
    • On one hand, it's always a bad thing when a pitcher has to get a 4th out, either because of an error or an umpire's mistake. On the other hand, a pitcher still has to execute and can't serve up a meatball. That being said, that was probably the most impactful non-strike call I can remember this year, maybe a few years.   EDIT: From Melewski - "Sometimes the strike call you don't get leads to the fastball you throw that leaves the ballpark."
