Yep. That is part of how great it was. He perfectly described the action in real time all in a tone of just barely restrained exuberance. In contrast, I was in apoplexy.

Well put! My call of the game would've gone something like this:

"YES! YES! YES! [Expletive] YES!!!!!"

Angel's job is pretty safe...

The decision to start Chen has been questioned numerous times because of the way the tigers hit left handers.

I also thought he should have pinch hit for Joseph last inning to get something started and get Sanchez into the stretch early.

Then he stuck with Gausman way too long and let the tigers get a second at bat against him where they torched him just like Chen.

I'm sorry, he's had about as bad a game as a manager as you can have.

And then. He sent Delmon to the plate.

Okay I've been thinking since someone brought this up on a thread about Andrew Miller but the Miller trade has another dimension that I actually hadn't thought about when we made the trade. Trading for Miller not only seems to have solidified our pen but it meant that a potential and now actual playoff opponent like the Tigers did not get him. Andrew Miller in the 8th would have been a lot harder to score four runs on than Joba and Soria were. I said it at the time but I really do feel that Detroit and Oakland got too cute with their deadline moves. And now if we win Sunday we have a chance to advance past both of them.
