Colby Rasmus has played 6 Major League seasons and has OBP'd under .300 while hitting under .230 in 3 of those campaigns, including last year.

In his 2 best statistical seasons, his BABIP was more than 50 points above his career average BABIP.

Why exactly should I want him as a starting COF for the 2015 Orioles?

Really? where are you getting this from? I can understand taking a shot on Rasmus because of the obvious upside, but I do not get the Gomes thing at all.

I see Gomes as a Young replacement. Platoon DH/LFer, very cheap, short commitment. If any of those guys is looking for much more than 1/3 or 1/4 you just move on to the next one.

Find me a better LF/RF/DH/backup CF then:

Lough

de Aza

Pearce

Delmon Young

and a selection of Orioles farmhands

and probably some unexpected guys Duquette adds via some means

And I'll show you J. Upton for Hunter Harvey and Dylan Bundy.

Nolan Reimold is a free agent :scratchchinhmm: haha

Maybe Lew Ford, the reigning Atlantic League Player of the Year, could be pried away from the Long Island Ducks. He hits from the right side, is only 38, and has always been a popular figure on this board. :thumbsup1:
