It's time to get on the Colby Rasmus train (Signs w/Houston)

20. Colby Rasmus — Rasmus’ market may be heating up as the free agent outfielder cupboard grows bare. The Twins aren’t in on Rasmus, but the Orioles are one possibility. The Cubs also showed interest earlier last week. Teams may have difficulty gauging Rasmus’ value. Early in his career, he had a falling-out with the Cardinals, and last season the Blue Jays demoted him to a reserve role.

I'm sure he and his agent are doing their best to keep up with all the offers.

Guy is gonna be a beast for us. Just hope it's not a 1 year deal. Hoping for a nice 3 year deal.

That only makes sense if there are a ton of vesting clauses and team options. The guy is wildly inconsistent.

He's consistent in that he only has a decent season if his BABIP is at a ludicrous level. Both of his 4 WAR seasons coincided with a BABIP of greater than .350, or 60 points above his career average.

Agreed. This guy is wildly inconsistent and a K machine. With guys like Davis and Schoop in the lineup and even Adam Jones, that is the last thing we need. Much rather have a guy like Aoki or trade for a Seth Smith/Ben Zobrist that is likely to give you an OBP around .350.

If we were not a contending team it might make sense to add a guy like Rasmus since he is a high risk/high reward kind of player, but that's not where this team is at right now. We have enough risky players in our projected lineup as it is because of health (Wieters, Machado) or recent performance issues (Davis) so what we need is a sure thing.
