I doubt a new stadium and owner would have helped the average attendance of less than 8K per game. Many AAA teams have better attendance than the Expos did.

It helped the previous time the Expos attendance was around 8,000. The last year of Jarry Park Stadium in 1976 the Expos attendance average was 8,084 and was 11th of 12 NL teams. Olympic Stadium opened in 1977 and attendance jumped to 18k, 18k, 26k, 28k, 27k, 29k, and 29k over the first 7 years. By 1983 the Expos were second in the National League in attendance and weren't particularly competitive.

Angelos supposedly bought the rights with the team. He can then sell them.

Let the Nats draw from their own well. Certainly, he can present a bill for such services. After all. We are not communists.

And there will be the peace

Big, big win for MASN (read: the Orioles). This isn't a final ruling on who wins the case, but one of the factors considered by a court in issuing a preliminary injunction is "likelihood of success on the merits," in addition to looking at whether either party will suffer "irreparable harm" if the injunction is granted/not granted. I will be interested to read the judge's ruling to see the specifics.

Pretty happy with the speed with which this is currently moving.

Well, it could slow from here. There are strict time deadlines for holding a preliminary injunction hearing, but that's over now. I guess we may know more about the timetable going forward once the parties meet with the judge on Thursday "to decide next step."

It has to go faster then when MLB was handling it.

Sad but true. And it will be more apparent what is going on. Hopefully, they'll finish before the next "reset" period, as they've already managed to go 2.75 years into the first five-year "reset" period without actually resolving anything. Unbelievable.

Really funny when you put it that way.
