Very few people are going to hold on to that line drive; it was a miracle he even got his glove to it. Had that ball been going 3 MPH faster off the bat, it would have made a sonic boom.

The hitting criticism though is right on the mark. I would love to get 2014 Pearce back (or even a moderately hitting Pearce) but I don't think that's going to happen.

Line drives that hit the glove should be caught more times then not. Often guys who suck at the plate sulk in the field and worry about their hitting rather than stay alert. Don't know if that happened and maybe you are right but, please Steve, do one thing to help the team tonight.

None of our guys are Price, Greinke, Kershaw or Hernandez and neither is Johnny Cueto

My point is that a number of teams have true TORs...we just don't. Johnny Cueto is better than any of our current starters- his WHIP is 0.871, but he is going to go the Yankees, imho. It is not just Price, Greinke, Hernandez, Kershaw, Scherzer, we don't have anyone as good as Chris Sale, Kluber, Dallas Keuchel, Sonny Gray, Chris Archer, etc. etc. Chen is a 2-3, Ubaldo is a 2-3, Tillman and Gonzalez 3-4, Norris, Gausman 5s

I would love for the Orioles to remember here that lead off walks and singles are supposed to score approximately 40% of the time, and they've left the last zillion or so lead off runners out on the diamond, and for the love of all that is holy it is time to score one of them for once.
