PressBoxOnline
Orioles third baseman Manny Machado had a breakout season in 2015, and manager Buck Showalter believes he deserves consideration for AL MVP. http://www.pressboxonline.com/2015/10/08/orioles-buck-showalter-thinks-manny-machado-deserves-mvp-consideration
TonySoprano
Buck wants the national media to make a different decision than the local media that chose Davis?
Frobby
Manny should get some top 5 votes, but I can't see him getting any 1st place votes. He wasn't even voted MVO, remember?
Larry18
I think Manny and Chris Davis deserve consideration. I also believe that Josh Donaldson will win as writers tend to turn this into a team award.
Can_of_corn
He deserves consideration. He doesn't deserve to win it. I wouldn't expect anything else from Buck. Machado will finish higher then Davis in the MVP voting.

Trout had the slightly better year but generally speaking the player on a playoff team gets the benefit of the doubt.
DrungoHazewood
Donaldson will win it, as Trout continues his Williams-like tendency to be the best player in the league while the writers figure ways to not give him the award. Machado has an argument for 3rd or 4th-best player in the league.
El Gordo
Going by fWAR it's: Trout Donaldson Manny Cain Davis
abbott
That's what good managers do, promote their players. But it would have been awkward to push DAVIS only to have him leave.

Spy Fox
Manny and Davis will both be top 10 finishers, and Manny probably top five. But neither has any argument against Donaldson/Trout.
hendu
Rotoworld, FWIW, had Manny 4th and Crush 11th. IIRC, Cain (3rd) and Manny were basically interchangeable for them. -Acronym Guy
abbott
That and Manny is the better player. Not arguing that. Manny is so much better. Davis and his 200+ Ks can leave if he can't appreciate the chance we gave him

Redskins Rick
Trout had the slightly better year but generally speaking the player on a playoff team gets the benefit of the doubt. Players having great incrediable years on bad teams, often get overlooked. The writers believe if the player was really a MVP, the team would preform better. I think some of that logic is pure horse hockey. You penalize the guy by what the rest of his teammates are not doing.
