I like Yac.   He’s not consistent, but can be tough to hit on his good days.

A part of me thinks that some of these guys like Yac would benefit from 1 IP stints and a more defined role.  We don’t have the luxury and won’t for a very long time. The other part of me thinks that look what Means did. He succeeded and earned more innings.

Is someone else going to step up this year?

I do think we have the luxury to do this. The Norfolk shuttle is fully revved up. I'd hope we'd just use it strategically if guys need a break.

Yacabonis has always struggled with consistency. He has major league stuff, but it's hard to be able to count on him because he's a box of chocolates when it comes to each appearance.

Even his velocity can fluctuate wildly from the low 90s all the way up to mid-to high 90s. Hopefully he'll be able to put it all together, but he really does have some good stuff.

2 scoreless innings for Yacabonis this afternoon as the "Opener."

The defense immediately put him in the hole by committing an error on the Plate Appearance of the Athletics' very first batter of the game ........ Yacabonis (fortunately) overcame it, with the help of an inning-ending double play to close the frame.

Call me crazy but... I think the Yac might be successful as a starter.  When I've seen him this year, his off-speed stuff looked dramatically better than last year.

But only when pitching to Pedro?  ?
