Seems like there are some command issues to begin with.  So not the worst thing that could happen.

I am far from a doctor, but "shoulder instability" sounds like a euphemism for something not at all conducive to being a MLB pitcher.

Wait, how has Hall been worse?  He's got a 4.28 ERA as a 19 year old in Delmarva.  Even if he repeats the level to start next year, I don't think his path to the Majors is significantly impaired.

• 2019: Delmarva (20)
• 2020: Frederick (21)
• 2021: Bowie/cup of coffee (22)
• 2022: Norfolk or MLB. (23)

He could even start next year at Frederick if he shows some improvement toward the end of this year.  Or he could be up for a mid-season promotion next year if he pitches well next year.  Yes, I know that these scenarios are somewhat optimistic, but he's at least holding his own in his first full season of pro ball.  That's something.

Instability usually is code for something not being attached. Not a good word, pain is much better than instability.

I had pain in my knee from patellar tendinitis, it was a short easy recovery.

I had instability in my knee, but no pain, completely torn ACL. Surgery and long rehab.
