I am surprised Roe was let go. He's a good second half pitcher. And to let him go for a guy that hasn't pitched in MLB in 2 years? Hoping they know something we don't.

Roe isn't a good second half pitcher -- he has a career 5.09 ERA after the All-Star break compared to 3.12 below. We saw that in action last year when he got off to a great start for the Orioles for his first few weeks, then fell apart in the second half.

That said, Ondrusek is a weird choice to replace him.

The very next day against the Blue Jays, Ondrusek sent the opponent down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 12th inning to seal a desperately-needed win for the Orioles.

He looked REALLY good. Fastball about 93-94, cutter at 90-91, curve at 74-75.

Dropped a couple of nice curveballs but the FB looked flat and very hittable. Both Barney and Travis looked like they just missed, although Ondrusek struck out Jose to end the game.

I thought the fastball looked good as well. Actually, set those other pitches up very well.
