THATS two straight games with first pitch swings and outs for Adam Jones. Sure ,he gets a hit and an occasional HR with first pitch swings..but thats NOT what a leadoff hitter should do.

Why? Help me understand.

Thats an 8 pitch first inning for a guy we would like to get the pitch count up. It infuriates me when this team just swings at almost every pitch.

A leadoff hitter USUALLY needs to see a lot of pitches. How hard is that to understand? He helps the other hitters behind him to see those pitches..and hopefully takes some walks too. Jones just doesnt do it.

I see. Ok then. I'm not convinced that matters when you bring other offensive elements. Especially in September when pitch counts don't matter.
