We suddenly have depth at starting pitcher. Why do you want to get rid of it for what is unlikely to be a good return? Plus any marginal money saved is unlikely to be enough to buy any upside value.

I can't agree that having an additional $13M wouldn't have a positive effect on the budget.

If all three are healthy which guy would be better coming out of the pen? Wouldn't that position be better filled by a roving group of guys with options?

As for depth, there are plenty of guys that you could sign to minor league deals that can give you a 5+ ERA.
