Well rhat answers that. Means is getting another opportunity for a tune up in Norfolk Sunday so he won't be pitching vs the Yankees. I think that is the correct decision. He needs to start in MLB against a non division opponent, preferably a team that is no better than average in the league. Then we will see what we have in John Means for 2024 at the Major League level. -

Was that before or after the O's signed him? Did he go on the IL for the sunburn injury? -
That makes it make more sense. In all other scenarios besides "injury replacement for a couple of series," Stowers probably gets the call up instead. -

Drungo just taught me the detail of old Ty Cobb and young Jimmie Foxx together on those teams, and I thought maybe I could do one of those Cobb played with Foxx who played with X, and get to Colton Cowser in like three steps. But longevity Foxx isn't that great - he only gets to the 1945 Phillies, and their youngest member, age 17 Putsy Caballero, had a short career. Granny Hamner on the other hand did make it to the '62 A's, and played with David Segui's dad. Foxx in his swansong looks like he was one of the better relievers on that team, so maybe as Kevin Brown once put it, Shohei who?? -

Disappointed that Jackson couldn't stick in his 1st exposure to the majors. He seemed to be making more contact the last few games. Obviously still striking out way too much. The O's got that 7th year of control and no one can say his time was manipulated. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for him to start hitting in Norfolk again. -
McKenna taking balls at 2B was a sign that Holliday was going down but I don't think anyone said something. McKenna is the emergency 2B, like Lenn Sakata was the emergency catcher.
