I'm sure we could get 2 of those guys + a lower level high upside guy, but no way we get all 4.

Feliz and Fisher plus 1 of Whitley or Perez? Perez looks like he could be a gem. I'd ask for Yordan Alvarez but he would just be another 1B/LF here, so he might not be a match.

I believe him when he says teams have called about Scott.

Yeah, our farm may be poor but we have pieces. Hays, Mountcastle, Scott, Akin, Sisco, etc. are some nice pieces that I'm sure quite a few teams like.

The Orioles held their annual midseason State of the Orioles address with season-ticket holders at Camden Yards – at least until it was cut short by rain.

The Q&A with executive vice president Dan Duquette and Buck Showalter yielded few details on the plan for the next week or so.

Let’s face it, that’s not really unexpected. Duquette is close to the vest as it is; he’s not revealing to fans what he’s targeting before July 31’s non-waiver trade deadline. That’d be foolish.

So, if you were hoping that Duquette was going to declare that the 46-50 Orioles are sellers – or buyers – well, he wasn’t going there. But this is what he did say. You can read between the lines with me.

“I got a lot of confidence in the guys that we have that we can put it together. This is a tough division. Day in, day out we have to compete against the toughest teams in the league and invariably we do a pretty good job,” Duquette said. “This year, we haven’t had the starting pitching that we need, but the other elements of our ballclub are intact. And if we can get a little bit better pitching — or add to the pitching — we can still make a run at this. We are about four games out of the Wild Card (race) and that second Wild Card gives you a lot of hope until late into the season. And we are going to see what we can do this week to help our ballclub and strengthen the club, so that we can give you a contending team year in and year out.”

I think we all knew that. Machado, Jones, Schoop, Givens, etc. aren't moving at this deadline. Offseason/next deadline, unless we are winning a lot or are going to extend them, I expect that to be different.

I was thinking 2 of those 4 plus another lottery ticket.  Alvarez seems like a decent 3rd piece.

Tucker is a better version of Fisher, Whitey is a SP candidate that looks pretty close. Moran shows in the 20s on their team prospect list, seems to be blocked. Take a look at him! Alcala looks like a lottery ticket.

your getting one top 100 which is their. #2, #5, #26 and #29

    • If he has been injured all this time, why are they still letting him play? After a month of poor performance with an injury, they should have sat him. EDIT - Screw a month, 2 weeks.
    • And McCann is our worst RHB facing a dominant lefty with reverse splits. You have to think a K is a high likelihood.  And then to send him up there with Ramon on 3rd, you have to expect the same outcome.
    • I don't like hearing that a catcher has a back issue -no matter how big or how small it is- at age 26.
    • IMO he made two decisions that were clearly wrong, pitching to Witt and not PR Holliday, to go along with a couple others I didn’t agree with but are certainly debatable. There is no doubt that the game was lost because the bats couldn’t push a run across, but everyone has a job to do, and like the batters, Hyde didn’t do his.
    • I use the StatCast search function. It’s a little more complicated for chase rate, ground ball rate, popup rate, and sweet spot rate because you need to adjust selected pitch attributes/outcomes as well as total pitch definition and then use % of pitches. I believe popups are categorized by stringers and generally capture balls that an infielder could catch.  I believe Adley’s fly balls have gotten can of cornier even without the popups.
    • ...or simply choose not to even attempt to play situational baseball.  As I posted in another thread, 0-0 game both teams aces are dealing.  Ced leads off the inning with a double.  Your #9 hitter (McCann) is coming to the plate with your two best hitters (Gunnar and Westburg) to follow. Instead of bunting Ced to 3rd and almost assuring yourself a 1-0 lead which firmly puts the pressure on KC, Hyde chooses to let McCann swing away.  He feebly strikes out, Gunnar grounds out (there was your run), and Westburg flies out.  0 runs, 1 hit, 0 errors. 1 left on....
    • Adley - Is it an injury? Is it a woman? Is it the "process?" Is it just who he is at his age? What Is It? And no, I'm not doing a pole. Wait till 2025 for the answer - I think. Till then - speculate. This off season goin be fun on here. This thread kinda makes me miss Rick Dempsey and I have absolutely no idea why. 😄 Oh yea, he was our last WSMVP.
