I think people confuse "good arm" with "good behind the plate".

Ever since Ramon got here, I've been puzzled about his good-D rep.

From the beginning, I thought Javy was a much better C, but with an average arm vs. Ramon's much better arm.

Ramon routinely does things that I think are wrong, and that's just from me having been a C in LL a hundred years ago, it's not like I was ever a real C or anything.

I get what you are saying, but I remember him being better at blocking balls in the dirt as well. He just has seemed lazy the past few years and like he did not care.
