I think I was referencing the fact that it seemed like the board in general had given up on him or written him off.

I hope people can refrain from "big game" for x today (especially for pitchers). This is a developmental year, mistakes will be bountiful. A while back the O's had Jayson Werth in their system, gave up on him (couldn't catch??) and went on to a pretty respectable career. I don't know much about any of these O's. I just hope they play hard and learn. I don't think BS was particularly patient with allowing a player to grow, he preferred a known vs an unknown. He didn't need to show patience with Machado, had more patience with Schoop, but usually preferred a vet.

I blasted him pretty bad at times last year, but I'm not ready to give up just yet. Non-tender Joseph, go with Sisco, Wynns, and maybe Cervenka later. Don't sign a veteran catcher.

If his k rate against major league pitching goes down and his contact rate goes up, if his defense improves, sure.
