Quite frankly, continueing to play him is dis-respecting the game, the fans, and his teammates.  He needs to go - not in a season, not at the all-star break, not in a month or 2; he needs to go now!

Despite it being said he has total control I don't think Elias has owner's approval to release Davis.

Who knows how long it will be?

I'm ready for him to sit more, like a lot more.

Lou tells Elias to keep playing Davis, then Elias tells Hyde.

I’m no under no illusion Davis is going to do anything on offense. And the consecutive at bats without a hit record only 9 at bats away.

Yeah, I'm not looking to blame Hyde or Elias... yet, but I think it's at the point where fans have been put in the situation where it's reasonable to boo the hell out of Davis - showing management that they won't take it anymore.  I've never seen anything like this.  We've already put up with him being the worst player in baseball history last year.  His swing looks even worse than last year.  Enough is enough.

Only time I have an issue with fans booing is when management encourages the booing of their own players.

I think of booing him more as booing management/ownership for playing him and to try to bring about change.

Boo birds are going to be out in full force until Davis is benched or in the unlikely chance he starts hitting again.

When you look at the final year or two of “the greats” on a baseball card or on baseballreference, you see those really sad subpar years with fewer AB and simply “far below their prime” numbers. What followed immediately after was retirement. 

Davis is there. Davis is not “a great”. His defense does not do enough to counterbalance the near record dearth of offense. He needs to hang it up.
