Maybe he had a fourth option?

If a player misses an entire option year due to injury or expends his third option year before he has completed five professional seasons (Major Leagues and Minor Leagues included), he can receive a fourth option year.

He may still have the fourth option because of missing the entire 2016 campaign.

Davis first.

I agree in spirit but I think Trumbo would be easier to get rid of from a financial perspective.  This is his last year, there's not as much money left on the contract.

But something will most likely have to be done about Davis this year.  I haven't been paying too close attention, but who's striking him out?  Is it ML talent? Or is it guys that are probably gonna be cut soon?

Either way, I suppose it doesn't matter.
