Did we ever get an explanation as to why surgery wasn’t recommended initially or if it was never recommended by any physician? Elias seems to keep injury news sealed until specific press conferences. Do we know that surgery wasn’t recommended and the player wanted to rehab instead? Bradish never seemed right, despite the good results. From mysteriously skipping a start to losing significant velocity in 1 inning against the Rays to pulling himself out of the Phillies game. Perhaps time for new physicians if they thought he could pitch through this. -

I'll post this here in lieu of some other thread, but my personal pref list is Mayo/Basallo in some order, followed by Holliday. I know Holliday is very young and has great plate discipline, but I don't think his defense offers a ton of value (e.g., he's really not a SS, certainly not a plus one), his speed is average and his power profile pales in comparison to the other two. I love that we have him, but I love that we have the other two even more. -
Holliday hits a lot of singles (plus a fair amt of doubles obv) and has yet to top 12 HR in a season. I don't think there's much reason to think pitchers would be scared to pitch to him. I think Holliday simply has a batting eye that is way above average. If it is off the plate he just will not swing at it. This is a great skill for a hitter to have, obviously...........however when he comes back to MLB he is likely going to see more pitches in the strikezone until he proves he can do damage to them. -
The O's went 18-12 during the 31-day gauntlet, which is one more win than I predicted, but consistent with the most popular predictions in the poll. Personally, I'm very pleased with that outcome, even though the five-game losing streak kept it from being even better. On to July, when the team has three off-days in addition to the four-day all-star break, though they do play a doubleheader on July 29. It will be helpful to our pitchers to get some off days this month. -

I think he will be up but will retain rookie status for 2025.
