Win 1, Lose 2

Almost a coin flip for a 3-game series. Statistically, a team with a winning fraction of 0.333 has a 30% chance of losing all 3 games of a series, and a 26% chance of winning the series.

Andrew Cashner has been scratched from tonight's start, which hurts the Orioles' chances for a sweep.

I was reminded on 105.7 the other day that it's likely that we have a streak at some point where we lose like 11 out of 12.

We already had streaks where we lost 10 of 11, 8 of 9 and 8 of 10.    I’m sure there will be more, but we’ve had plenty of these stretches already.

The Orioles just lost their 6th consecutive rubber match.

So, the Orioles are now in a "must-win" situation this afternoon ........ that would make tomorrow's game a 7th consecutive rubber match.

Win 1, Lose 3.  Mike Wright pitches 2 scoreless, something he managed only one time in 10 games with the 2019 Orioles.
The O's are 3-20-2 in 25 series;  1-10-1 at home, 2-10-1 on the road.   43 games since the O's last won back-to-back, a new record.  42 in 1987 was the previous mark.

THIS......is outstanding.  And 2 of those 3 happened in the first week of the season.  80% of the time that a team has played the Orioles this year, they have improved their win-loss total for the season....and 20 out of the last 23 times.  Man that is pathetic.  I think the 2010 Orioles won only 4 series through July.....let's see if we can top it!

Today marks the first time since the beginning of April when the O's have won three (or more) in a row.  It's also the second series win at Toronto.   The only other road series win was the Opening weekend in Yankee Stadium.

Overall, the O's are 5-22-2 in 29 series;  2-11-1 at home, 3-11-1 on the road.
