The best player on the market would be Skubal and it’s not close. The biggest difference maker on the market would be Skubal and it’s not close. sometimes, if the best you can do is double down on a strength, you do it. Minnesota could also be a team that could do this. And btw, the whole point is that the Os aren’t the only team that could put together a package led by a top 20 guy and a top 50 guy. Other teams could do it if they want to, so we need to stop acting like the Os are some unicorn and no one else can match them. -

I will be disappointed if we don't load up heavy on pitching in this draft. Hopefully there is someone that Elias likes in the 1st round that might join the rotation in a year. -

A 3+ FIP isn’t bad, Fedde’s Whip is arguably a more important stat, and 1.1 WHIP is better than league average. His .269 BABIP is worse than league average, so the defense has hurt him a little.He’s had 18 starts for 106 innings or a hair under 6 innings per start, so he won’t wear out the pen. I think he’s a splendid pickup, but would cost more than a prospect for our teens. -
We don’t even have 6 really good bullpen arms. Having an extra bullpen arm that’s awful doesn’t comfort me. -

Seattle does have 2. But they are position players. That’s the thing that they need… offense. Again, I don’t see how Skubal (maybe a little bit better pitching for them) gets them into being a serious World Series/best team in the AL status? They can’t hit. And honestly the same is true for Boston. They have good pitching (though I contend with you that Skubal will improve Boston’s pitching at the top of the rotation - more than Seattle). But Boston needs offense IMO. And if they make that trade, they don’t have anything else to go get any offense. -

There’s a 90% chance Povich makes that start Thursday, but we could get creative. Kremer and Povich both have options. We could option them like we used to do with Chen/Miggy in 2013/2014 around the ASB. Idk if they wouldn’t be down the necessary time to make their scheduled starts as the 4th/5th SP out of the break. That could give us a 9 man pen for the Yankees series.
