Pretty decent line score last night.    Why’d they pull him?

As BM noted, pitch count. By the time he came out he had settled down. It was strange, though, because at the start of the game I commented in the GT I thought he had pinpoint control. He got two quick outs and then it changed.

I am surprised, especially with Cobb, that the pitch count is still under 100. Many vets have surpassed that.

Given the recent trades, pitch count might be "artificially" low for the vet because they want to deal a healthy guy...  With everything going on with covid, I'm sort of shocked there are trades going on.  Yet that's a two way street, I guess.  We benefit from offloading, especially salary like Cobb's, but the Marlins and others might have a need to on-load.  Hot stove in August.

If he pitches well today, could he be an option for the Braves.   The Braves just lost Soroko for the year.

Soroka is a huge loss, but looks like they’re staying in house.

“The likelihood is were going to go internal,” according to Anthopoulos.

Cobb cost himself 3 extra pitches in the 2nd inning by committing a throwing error.

He struggled a bit with his control in the 3rd inning, but pitched himself out of what was a relatively minor jam.

100% of the outs that he recorded tonight (15 out of 15) came via the Groundout and the Strikeout.

Can Cobb continue pitching well enough to be a trade chip before the season ends?

I think Cobb pitched much better than his line yesterday. 3 infield hits in one inning and a couple more later. Was very dominant outside the gopher ball.

Unfortunately, part of the reason for this is that our left fielder can't catch a fly ball.
