Unfortunately Joe Altobelli just passed, I was looking forward to the O's bringing him back to put them over the top.

Altobelli was another one of those guys who 40 years ago I thought was pushing 70.

They've been good friends for decades. That's the only reason he was hired. There's not a chance in hell that La Russa would've been considered for any other job in baseball.

The White Sox could be a playoff team and Reinsdorf decides to hire his old friend instead of the most qualified candidate.
