Is there a reason anyone should play in Bowie?

Sure.

Folks pay to see games.  Need players for them to watch.

I've been over this before.  Some players need the minor league experience and some don't.  I think the really talented players can effectively learn at the ML level.

I would "rush" talented players, particularly position players to the majors if they would agree to reasonable long term deals.

I would be willing to sign Gunnar to a 10 year deal and bring him up tomorrow to learn in the majors.  He'd suck this year, he'd probably suck next year.  By 2023 he'd be a better player for it.

You get better faster from adversity.  Assuming you have the drive to overcome it.

5 for 6 with a pair of HRs and 7 RBI, 1 BB 1K for both ends of the double header.  Looks like he is indeed heating up.

I think a slim chance exists that AR gets promoted to the majors this season but maintains his rookie eligibility.

Almost had as good a day as Greiner.    5 for 7, 2 homers, 8 rbi, 6 runs.

I somewhat feel like he's pulled a fine rope-a-dope on Mike Elias in the last 4-5 days.

Oh, Adley's lukewarm enough I'll venture giving a quote about high profile promotions coming next week.   Adley's like, "say again, boss".

And by Sunday night he gets to 293/465/573 as a MOO catcher for the best team in the league.

I guess he should catch Rodriguez once or twice to help him through AA acclimation, but hopefully Father's Day Norfolk getting into range.   They let AAA guys play the Futures Game too.

If the September call up system wasn't changed two seasons ago, I think this would have been a strong possibility. But I don't see it happening this year.

Grenier's first home run just snuck over the fence, but the second one was an absolute moonshot. Had no idea he had that kind of power.

Another few months of proving himself and maybe Elias will promote him to Norfolk.

With all of the recent promotions, have you even thought about retiring this particular whip?  If the horse isn’t dead, it was coughing up blood last night.

    • I'm guessing that they could solve it this offseason if they want to. It's easy to put up a wall. What's difficult is putting in seating.
    • I think you can read a lot about the way he said things and his emotions while speaking. Just my opinion.
    • I think the opposite, Astro fans have an expectation of success, Oriole fans don't.
    • It could be a boon if you are targeting pitchers that are in a situation in which they need a one year make good deal to rehabilitate their value. Other than that,,,
    • Duh we brought in Kyle Giboson, Jordan Lyles, and Craig Kimbrel
    • The 13 game plan is guaranteed playoff tickets…….if you purchase them.  Since I assume you went through the team and chose your seat and purchased it with a card, you should get it back.   At least for me, my wife and I thought we were going to be moving 30 minutes away from our house, but instead of an hour from Baltimore, it would be 1 hour 45 minutes, so season tickets of any sort didn’t make sense.  I also figured that we would get hit with 4 pm games mid-week to start, so it all just didn’t make sense.   I am also surprised that my rep didn’t reach out to ask why.  I opted in before as a 29 game holder, in 2014, 15 and 16.  I went back to 29 games this year after two seasons with 13, and I’ve been a Birdland member since 2014.  Oh well.  We may be opting back into 13 next year, or not at all.  We will have to see.  My wife will sometimes get tickets from work, and they were always when we had tickets, so it didn’t make sense to take them.
    • That Jimmy Fallon movie was Fever Pitch.  Came out in late 2004 I think, because they had enough time to have the last scene being him and Drew Barrymore on the field in St. Louis celebrating the World Series win.  It actually was a really good movie at the time. But because the Red Sox and their fanbase became completely insufferable beginning with that comeback against the Yankees and carrying all the way through their 4 championships without so much as a loss in the World Series, it is hard for me to still enjoy it. But the underlying premise and that question of what has your favorite team ever done for you definitely resonated and certainly does even more so now with the Orioles.  And for Os fans the answer to that question is over the last 40 years, they haven't done much at all.
