We need NL teams to view Mancini as an OF. That’s how we get a good return.

I don't want to see Mancini go, but you're right if he's perceived as an outfielder Elias could start a bidding war among interested teams. I don't think that's likely and Mancini if traded it will be to a team that needs a 1B/DH.

Yeah that does work.   Chris Davis' agent talked up the possibility of him playing some RF and some idiot team gave him $160mm.

So....the Mets - those are forthright GM quotes for before Memorial Day.   Ronny Mauricio feels like a good fit for the Adley Orioles, but he is a high value player.

The Mets have been faking CF for years and years....this is the Mullins spot.   I don't think you can Hays your way to Mauricio.     Mauricio could always 2B, but Baty/McNeil decent Lindor flankers medium term.   At least for Orioles asks of Mets, would think Mauricio good edge on Baty.

If Elias feels one of our infielders can actually handle SS, then Baty and Vientos are two 3B in their Top 10

CF Pete Crow-Armstrong should be our target. Give them Mancini, Galvis and Fry.

I can't tell if you're serious. Why would any team trade its 19 year old 1st round pick, especially for the three players named?

Its funny you say that given this a thread about the Mets (see Jared Kelenic).

That said, different GM, different circumstances.  It won't happen but...it has.

I just cant get excited anymore with us trading away good ballplayers for AAA guys. We already have a team full of AAA guys.

We could actually use more of the AAA prospect types.  We are jacked with A/AA prospects.  The lack of big league ready prospects is what is our system lacks at the moment, but it won't be a problem forever.

You can see the successes of the rebuild have started to flourish in Delmarva, Aberdeen, and Bowie as all 3 are competitive and showcase a lot of exciting names.  Norfolk and the O's have nuggets, but overall, are thin on high end talent, have been terrible in the standings,  and show we are still about 2 seasons away from competing.  Santander, Mancini, and Means are the nuggets on the parent club, but we need to trade high and add to the AA/AAA crop.  We have a few interesting, controllable pieces beyond that on our AAA and big league club, but not enough to think we can contend in the next couple seasons.  The next two seasons belong to Hays, Mullins, Stewart, Mountcastle and some of the young pitchers.  There will probably be more Gavis/Iglesias/Franco deals too.  In about 2023 the talent in the system will start to click and arrive at the same time, Elias can supplement it with a couple big FA deals, and we are rolling.

Sell high!
