.542/.607/1.083 (includes Monday of last week), while making several highlight reel catches in centerfield.

I guess the 4th home run and the 10 RBI compared to 4 made the difference.

Rookie of Year futures looking better with OPS up to tie with Arozarena, and Kelenic back to AAA today.

Obviously Seattle should have had Kelenic earn AAA MVP and then refine skill at a new position some of next year too.    Then maybe he could have come up without having to go back down.

Same OPS but Arozarena’s wRC+ is 111 while Mountcastle’s is 99.

Kelenic becomes the latest phenom prospect to come up and have a brutal start in the bigs. And yet there will continue to be those who don't see any grey area in the development/service time games debate.

0-39 is possibly damaging to the confidence but that's likely it.

Going 0-40 probably isn’t good for a young player. But also, it wasn’t good for the big league club either. That’s the point. It’s not guaranteed to be positive for the player or the team. When some teams are very careful with promoting their prospects it doesn’t always mean they are manipulating his clock. You only like to show one side of what is a very complex situation.

Yeah.....and? Everyone piled on the Mariners for not promoting Kelenic last year. He says he wasn’t because he turned down their offer. The GM said he wasn’t ready for the majors in any event. The owner essentially admitted to manipulating his clock. Then he finally gets to the majors this year and is literally unplayable making the whole thing even more confusing. My point is, this one example shows how complex this situation is in baseball. There’s grey area here.

Every bit as much as the evidence that struggles like his do not...Every move is not about a teams clock.

Yes they offered him a long term deal.  Yes he turned it down.

The Mariners were lambasted for not bringing him up last year.  GM said he wasn't ready.

Brought him up as the #4 prospect in all of baseball.  And he has flopped.

0-39 before being sent down.  This is not about keeping him from being a super 2.

Why not try Mountcastle out at third?

Franco has a .592 OPS and is rating as one of the worst defensive thirdbasemen in the league. Hays is coming back and Stewart is heating up.
