I don’t get the thought process of fans.

Every single Os fan knows what Mancini went through and being a member of the Os isn’t helpful.

Get him out of here and let him go play games that matter.  We are doing him a favor.

Plus, it’s dumb to even consider an extension for him, so you are going to lose him anyway.

Hard to argue with that. I love Mancini. Watched him play at various minor league stops and cheered him on. He deserves better. I wonder where he could go. I just hope it isn’t the Yankees. Mets with Buck?

Besides being a great story and Trey being a great guy what sense, baseball wise, does it make not to trade him?  Whenever you get an offer that is fair for him (hopefully one player from a team's top 30?), you make the move.  Wish Trey the best and hope he gets to play in the playoffs.

We have become the joke of mlb and just a pass through for winning franchises, makes me sick. Mancini is a leader and role model for fans of all ages. Mancini is about more than baseball to me.

I think fans think about what other teams fans think too much. Laughing stock to whom? I love what the organization is doing and where they're at, by and large. I'm excited to watch this team. I have realistic expectations. 95% of baseball fans have no idea what the Os are up to behind the scenes, and I say let them continue to be ignorant.

I love Trey, and the Orioles are, indeed, pathetic and a joke of MLB.  But that does not, objectively, counsel against trading Mancini since he won't be here next year and could potentially fetch someone who can help in the future.

So you understand we are in a holding pattern until Angelos passes and what Elias wants isn’t likely being done because of that? Ignorant fans aren’t all that ignorant, 38 years. You must be young:)

He literally said I love what the organization is doing and am "excited" to watch a 30m payroll get smoked for 162 games.  Talk about brainwashed.

We've been watching this movie for 20 years, we know exactly what they are doing behind the scenes.

Not allowing their broadcast team to travel to save a $1000 bucks. That is what they are doing.

I think people put way more emphasis on fan reactions to any number of things (lockout, trades, scandals) than fans actually put on them. We have the attention span of mice these days. In a year or two when fans have something to root for they'll be in the stadium rooting, not stewing over Trey Mancini.

No question.  I just don’t get why fans, the people who say they want the best for Trey, would be upset about him getting off the Titanic?

I don't know, seems like we fans have long memories.   26 years later we still see red at the thought of Jeffrey Maier & Richie Garcia.   I will turn the radio station if We Are Family comes on.  People are still upset that John Miller was let go.    Not bringing in Britton in Toronto, trading away Hader, EdRod, Davies... all more than 5 years ago but still fresh wounds for a lot of O's fans.
