He was rated #126 by Baseball America so I don’t think he’s the underslot some are suggesting.  Sounds like a legitimate pick at that spot.

Probably ends up similar to Austin Wynns in terms of player profile, but hopefully his bat ends of a bit better.

I live in Austin, so I hear a ton about Texas baseball on the local sports radio station.  Troy Tulowitzki is on the Texas coaching staff and apparently does an incredible job with the hitters (hence why so many were drafted this year).  Ardoin's ceiling probably isn't high, but I bet Troy has him prepared to step into the low to mid minors and play well right away.
