They have done a lot of local places.

Any you'd recommend or that you remember standing out?  I remember a Korean BBQ place a few years back that I thought was pretty good.  I went to one game last year and one game the previous year.  I don't remember seeing anything that caught my eye.

Pizza John’s although I’m not sure if they were there last year.

Pizza John's was replaced in 2021. Pizza was decent last year, I thought. Not as good as Pizza John's but better than the pizza that preceded Pizza John's.

The crab cakes were terrible at one point and I think they may have gotten better recently as well.

Looking forward to trying new things though, nice to have a change.

Oh damn, it’s been that long?  Pizza John’s is the best. Probably wasn’t worth it to them.

The pizza was called 1729 Pizzeria but not sure who made it. For some reason the pizza on the club level had a different name.  Jimmy's Seafood is local ,not sure how good it is at the stadium. When the Orioles sign their lease ,supposedly many more restuarants will be added with views into the stadium and less seating in the bowl. As someone said ,some of these places would be open year round Talking about a free shuttle from the stadium to Horseshoe Casino,Topgolf and the Paramount concert hall. Want to connect the two stadiums with the new entertainment district. We shall see

Also, the top rated food selections mentioned there are from Boogs, Harris Creek and Stuggy's. Were they even under the purview of Delaware North?

Boogs hasn't been the same since they stopped cooking it on Eutaw Street.     I've got some friends coming in for a Pirate weekend in May and one of them has never had genuine Baltimore Pit Beef and said he was looking forward to Boogs.   I told him to skip it, I would take them to Chaps, or hell just to a good pop up pit beef stand or food truck in the area, rather than wait in line for Boogs.

Stuggy's was pretty good.

I'm not sure what Harris Creek was?

Hopefully they can pull that off.

I was going to say that also.  The food that is really good at Camden Yards is almost always from independent restuarants/vendors.  Was Boog's getting their BBQ from Delaware North?

According to the Baltimore Sun article just posted  that Delaware North operated those stands:

The Orioles did not renew their concessions contract with Delaware North, the Buffalo, New York-based company that has managed food and beverage sales at Camden Yards since 2010. Charles Roberts, a spokesman for Delaware North, confirmed Thursday that the company’s contract with the Orioles ended in December.

Roberts did not know who will replace Delaware North as the stadium’s vendor. The Orioles did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

The status of Delaware North’s contract had been in limbo since last year, when the Orioles solicited bids from prospective vendors.

But job listings on LinkedIn, the business-centric social media platform, might offer a clue about what’s to come. Chicago-based Levy Restaurants has several positions for Camden Yards posted on LinkedIn, including openings for a concessions manager and a director of concessions tasked with “overseeing all aspects of concessions operations.”

A spokesperson for Levy Restaurants did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday morning. The company handles concessions at dozens of stadiums and ballparks around the country, including Nationals Park, FedEx Field and Audi Field in the Washington, D.C. region, and locally for Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, according to its website.

What the change will mean for ballpark eats is not yet clear. Delaware North was the operator for popular Camden Yards spots like Stuggy’s and Boog’s BBQ, Roberts confirmed. The ballpark topped a Betting.com ranking of stadiums with the best food this fall, with the report listing beef and pork sandwiches from Boog’s, loaded hot dogs from Stuggy’s and crab cakes from Harris Creek Oyster & Seafood as the ballpark’s top-rated fare.

Upgrades in Cleveland.

Cleveland Guardians are actually paying  for some  of the improvements and not getting $600 million. They are suckers  Imagine if the media asked John Angelos if the Orioles would pay for any stadium improvements  His head would explode like in the movie, Scanners

The Cleveland Guardians are doubling down on their current home.

The MLB team will make a broad set of renovations to Progressive Field and sign a new lease agreement.

  • The construction will include changes to the upper deck, clubhouses, terrace hub and dugout club seating areas, and the team’s front office — and will cost an estimated $202.5 million.
  • Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and Ohio will contribute $135 million of that sum.
  • The Guardians will chip in the remaining $67.5 million.

Yeah, the O's owner is smarter.  Maryland taxpayers: $600 million, O's/Angelos: $0

I hope that the new company does a better job with craft beer selection.   It has really gone downhill at Oriole Park the last 4 or 5 years.

The fact that the new company is currently at Nats Park gives me hope there, as they have always had a good craft beer selection with a lot of locals available.   On the downside, Nats Park concessions are even more ridiculously high priced than most ballpark fare.

The times I have been at Nats Park, the food was bad and expensive.

    • I don't really want to see an all in trade given the risk involved with picking up any pitcher in the game right now. I want to see if veteran players on a big contract are an option now with Rubenstein. A player like Max Scherzer should be on the table as a means to add another viable starting pitcher. I have to think under Angelos a player like Scherzer would be too expensive and a nonstarter. I'd rather pay $$$ for some high priced veterans over giving up top prospects for one pitcher that you pray doesn't get a sore elbow.
    • I’m not an actuary. That’s @Filmstudy realm. He’s a master at calculating odds. Here’s what I will say. I think (just my two cents) that Elias should be aiming to come away from the trade deadline with a starting pitcher who is a real difference maker. And hopefully a bullpen arm or two that have power/strikeout stuff (unlike all of our relievers currently not named Kimbrel). Elias should be trying to increase our odds as high as possible. I don’t know by what percent our odds will increase. But I do know that if we add a top of the rotation type pitcher to what we have, the odds of us likely being successful against ANY TEAM in the Fall will go up. This again is just my opinion (for whatever that is worth) but it sends the right message to the players that you are invested in truly trying to get this team over the line (World Series trophy). If the message that is sent to the players continues to be “one foot in and one foot out”. I’m not sure if that is a strong appeal to ultra competitors like Gunnar and Adley. People might say well who cares what the players think? But it is probably going to play a roll (what they think/how they feel) in whether or not they are willing to re-up here longterm. And I can’t envision a version of the Orioles that is as strong and as viable to maximizing the earnings/value of the franchise without them. I’ve said this before, but I attend a lot of games and I’m around town very often. I see all of the #2 and #35 shirts on people’s backs in the stadium and around the community. Lastly, I believe that it is very important that we do right for players like Stowers and Norby. I get and I’m sure they understand that there may not be a place for them on the Baltimore Orioles. But you can’t leave guys buried at AAA for years and never give them a chance, especially when we are talking about prime years. These guys only have so many years to make money by playing the game. If you can’t use them, send them elsewhere. I have never been a big believer that you get rewarded by treating people (and that is what all the players actually are) wrong.
    • Holliday isn’t being traded lol. And I highly doubt Mayo is traded. Basallo is expendable to me. We have Adley.
    • Seems logical with the lefties coming up. It's time. Get him a taste before the AS break, temporarily option someone, then make a deal at the deadline to jettison someone like Urias.
    • I couldn’t help myself, I checked the replies and that guy on Twitter is saying it’s a rumor from the Mayo family but didn’t say where and he said it’s not anyone verified. So absolutely wouldn’t put any stock in that.  That said - I do see some logic here if there are a string of LHP coming up. Send Cowser to AAA for some more regular ABs, get Mayo up for the LHP and buy some time. Mullins plays CF and maybe Mateo is the backup CF or starts there vs the LHP (with Mayo 3B and Westburg 2B). The trade deadline is in 3 weeks. If they are committed to trading Urias, they could call up Cowser after the minimum AAA stint and DFA Urias, and then IIRC the DFA period to trade Urias is something like a week and would run through the trade deadline. They’d lose some leverage in trading him after a DFA, but that way they’ll know they will either get something for him then or there just never would have been enough demand across the league to move him.
    • As much of a crapshoot as the playoffs are, I'd say a 5% boost is worth quite a bit.
