The O’s took last year’s series 5 games to 2.   One of the losses was a game where Cease really dominated us, striking out 13 in 7 innings.  He was in the middle of a real hot streak when we faced him.  Hoping we don’t see that version this weekend.

Yes, I remember that game. We had no chance against Cease at all.

Kopech Game 2 of the series will be his second outing since he was tipping obviously enough against the Giants starting out the season to rate a Jomboy video.

First outing since that video came out, but not first outing since the game where he gave up all the HRs. That was 4/3 and he went 6 IP 1 ER against the Pirates on 4/9. Took a 1-0 L.

Calling for rain tomorrow in Chicago. Cease is scheduled to start tomorrow. A rainout and missing Cease wouldn't be too bad.

Except it would require us to reschedule the game and make a one-day trip to Chicago on what otherwise would be an off-day.

We just lost to an evenly matched team today on the road. Gibson gave up an 0-2 homer. We went 1-10 with RISP. Heck, Adley almost it into 3 GIDP. Bautista was unavailable. Mountcastle couldn’t scoop three balls. 
 

If any of those things go in our favor, we win. 
 

We’re 15 games into the season. It just sucks that if we would’ve spent a little more, and truly lifted off. We could be 10-5 and not 8-7.

Hendriks cancer and an injury stack some of it, but resembling some the In the Process of Being Determined 4th worst team in the American League.      We just gotta beat 9 of them.

Cease is probably a keeper for them, but Lynn, Giolito, Hendriks, Reynaldo all feel like 2023 trade possibilities if it doesn't turn around.

Pretty much best case scenario. 2-1 with a chance at a sweep. We’re playing good ball.
