I'm not a big fan of Cutters.  Seems to me that for a lot of guys it's their fourth or fifth best pitch and they'd be better served keeping it in their back pocket.

I'm not sure why they keep calling it, it's an easy pitch to get beat on, unless, of course, you are Mariano Rivera.

I agree with that. Especially if they've already sped the bat up with their fast ball. I'll never forget Bryan Baker getting hammered for a home run in Houston last season and Jim Palmer being serious frustrated with the fact he threw a cutter right after his fast ball.

Volpe has a .666 OPS and Henderson is at .716 and is a year younger, but sure, give Volpe ROY.
